The year 2024 marked distinguished milestones. We began a significant partnership with the Institute for Human Resources Professionals (IHRP). Our participants may now earn coveted skills badges. We also received a strong testament to our quality; a Grade 1 rating from the Training Provider Quality Assessment (TPQA).

Our Team Members

Tommy Tan

Director

As Director of Adept Academy, Tommy guides the organisation’s strategic vision and development. He steers the academy with a leadership style defined by disciplined execution and a consistent commitment to industry innovation. His focus is on building a robust organisation that meets the evolving needs of the sectors it serves.

This leadership perspective is forged from a notable career. Tommy previously served as Managing Director at Talent Touche, where he managed contracts with clients like Singapore Airlines. His corporate journey was preceded by a commendable career in the Republic of Singapore Navy, where he held the rank of Major. He is ACTA certified and holds a Graduate Diploma from the National University of Singapore.

Keith Ho

General Manager

As General Manager, Keith architects Adept Academy’s operational framework, with a strong focus on quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Keith holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Birmingham City University, a Specialist Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE). He is also recognised as a Specialist Adult Educator (SAE).

His career includes key roles at the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and the Singapore Productivity Centre, where he focused on driving training innovation and curriculum development. This strategic experience is built upon an operational foundation from the hospitality sector, with roles at the Tung Lok Group and The St. Regis Singapore.

Doris Chen

Assistant Manager, Business Development

As Assistant Manager, Doris applies her hospitality experience as a Cabin Crew from Singapore Airlines to the field of business development. She uses her strong understanding of customer service to foster client relations, identify growth opportunities, and build strategic partnerships for the academy.

This expertise is complemented by her analytical acumen from her Bachelor of Arts in Economics. This allows Doris to inform her client-focused strategies with data-driven insights, making her a valuable asset in creating solutions that resonate with the market and expand the academy’s reach.

Hazel Lee

Manager, Academic Operations

As Manager of Academic Operations, Hazel is responsible for Adept Academy’s training standards and regulatory compliance. She applies a keen eye for detail to ensure every programme and process adheres to established frameworks of quality and accreditation, maintaining the integrity of the academy’s offerings.

She draws from extensive experience at the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and the Singapore Chinese Chamber Institute of Business. Her practical expertise is supported by a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of London and a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP).

Andy Lim

Manager, Curriculum Development

Andy, our Manager of Curriculum Development, architects training programmes at the intersection of technology, instructional design, and sustainability. His work ensures the academy’s curriculum is relevant and forward-looking, preparing learners for evolving industry challenges.

Andy’s dual expertise is built on a Diploma in Business Information Technology from Temasek Polytechnic and a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP). This combination of technical skill and pedagogical knowledge enables him to create sophisticated and effective digital learning experiences.

Damien Tan

Professional, Curriculum Development

As a Professional in Curriculum Development, Damien merges instructional design with corporate strategy to create programmes that deliver tangible business results. He is dedicated to enhancing training that drives service quality, ensuring learning solutions are both practical in application and impactful on performance.

With a Diploma in Business Information Systems and a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), Damien possesses the technical and instructional expertise required to build effective, strategically aligned training solutions for a diverse range of industries.

Elaine Lai

Coordinator, Academic Operations

As Coordinator, Elaine ensures the smooth and efficient execution of academy functions by applying her background in event coordination and hospitality. Her past experience as an Event Coordinator at Gastrogig honed her expertise in managing VVIP events and developing service training.

Her operational capabilities are further enriched by diverse roles, including her time as Cabin Crew with Scoot and as a Food and Beverage Ambassador at Sofitel Singapore City Centre. This hands-on experience is formalised by her Diploma in Hotel Management from Shatec Institutes.

Gwen Cheah

Creative Advertising Professional

As our Creative Advertising Professional, Gwen Cheah blends artistic vision with technical skill to shape Adept Academy’s digital presence. She drives our marketing strategies by applying her passion for digital media to create compelling branding, graphics, and multimedia content that enhance our outreach.

A graduate of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah with a degree in Computer Science, Graphics & Multimedia Technology, Gwen possesses a strong technical foundation for her creative work. She contributes valuable innovation to the academy’s digital advertising efforts.

Our Value Proposition

Earning CPD Hours

IHRP skills badges come in three levels: Basic, Proficient, and Advanced.

  • Basic Level: Introductory courses (minimum 8 hours).
  • Proficient Level: Application-based courses (minimum 30 hours).
  • Advanced Level: Higher-level learning and assessment (minimum 45 hours).

Not all skills badges have all three levels; some are only available at a specific level. IHRP Skills Badges can also earn its members up to 30 CPD Hours.

Adept Academy provides HR courses that are aligned with the Institute for Human Resource Professionals’ (IHRP) Body of Competencies (BoC) and the SkillsFuture Skills Framework. By enrolling in our courses, IHRP Members can earn accredited CPD Hours to advance their professional standing.

For the issuance of the Skills Badges, please note that there is a separate processing fee of up to $50.00 (before GST) payable to IHRP. Adept Academy shall collect the payment from participants directly.

Bridging WSQ to UK Qualifications

Adept Academy has established a strategic partnership through Quill Learning with NCC Education, a globally recognised UK awarding body. This collaboration establishes a formal progression pathway, where selected Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQs) courses completed at Adept Academy are officially recognised for credit exemptions towards NCC Education’s Level 3 and Level 4 Diplomas in Business.

For learners, this credit recognition offers a distinct advantage. It allows you to leverage the WSQ qualifications provided by us to secure exemptions from designated modules in the NCC Education Diploma programmes. Consequently, this provides a more efficient and cost-effective pathway for completing your globally recognised British qualification.
