Learning Unit 1: Introduction to Carbon Footprint Standards and Environmental Management

  • Identify the purpose and principles of ISO:14001, ISO:14064, and related carbon management standards.
  • Analyse how Environmental Management Systems (EMS) support organisational carbon footprint reduction.

Learning Unit 2: Carbon Footprint Analysis Tools and Techniques

  • Apply screening tools to identify carbon emission ‘hot spots’ within an organisation and develop targeted reduction plans.
  • Design potential technologies and their impact on mitigating carbon footprint ‘hot spots.’

Learning Unit 3: Developing and Implementing Carbon Reduction Plans

  • Implement practical and measurable plans to achieve targeted carbon reduction goals..
  • Evaluate the costs and benefits of carbon footprint reduction initiatives to guide decision-making.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Possess minimally a ‘N’ Level and/or listen, speak, read, and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5.
  • Use numeracy skills equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3.
  • Learners without the prerequisite will be allowed to be accepted in the course if they possess a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
